Since 2012 I’ve been inspiring Dental Professionals to assume their roles as complete health dentists and hygienists. You are needed to prevent and treat dementia, cardiovascular disease, cancers, pregnancy complications, and more.
I’ve heard your frustration. The first question I’m always asked is, “How can I get my medical colleagues to take me seriously?”
I’ve seen it personally. Even at a functional medicine conference of physicians who understand root cause medicine, they described the gastrointestinal system as beginning at the pharynx, completely bypassing the mouth.
I feel it. I’ve experienced the frustration of resistance, and even pushback, from community physicians who don’t understand the importance of what we do. I get similar responses from cardiologists and neurologists who don’t understand my preventative cardiology and cognitive decline programs.
